Prop your phone beside the board and NotateMate reads the moves as you play them — no scoresheet, no tapping between moves, no reconstructing the game afterwards from memory.
You do the first one before the game starts and the last one when it ends. Nothing in between.
Set your phone next to the board and line the frame up with it. Once per game, before the first move — then leave it alone.
Each move is recognised as it lands and written into the notation. Reach over the board, take your time, castle either way round — it waits for the position to settle.
The game is already saved with its moves and result. Add the players, then share it as a PGN or an animated GIF — or send it straight to Lichess or Chess.com to analyse.
Recognition runs entirely on the device. No frame of your board, your hands or the room around you is ever uploaded, stored on a server or seen by anyone. What can leave your phone is the list of moves — never the picture it came from.

Pro includes everything Scoresheet does. Scoresheet is for people who record their own games and would rather not have a subscription — paid once, it works out at about 21 months of Pro.
Any ordinary chess set. It is built around standard tournament sets, and works the same on a green-and-cream board or a black-and-white one. What it needs is real pieces standing on a real board, in light good enough to see them by.
It tells you rather than guessing: when the position stops making sense you get a prompt instead of a wrong game recorded in silence.
Not to record, save or export. An account is only for syncing games between devices and for broadcasting. You must be 13 or older to create one.
Not yet — NotateMate is iPhone only for now. Spectating needs no app at all: a broadcast link opens in any browser, on any device.
